Defending champions Real Madrid will face English champions Manchester City in UEFA Champions League playoffs set for next month for a slot in the round of 16 stage.
Pep Guardiola’s side will host the Spanish giants in the 1st leg between 12th and 13th before Madrid stages the return leg between 17th and 18th February.
According to the draw conducted on Friday afternoon, the overall winner of the contest will square off in the round of 16 against Atletico Madrid from Spain or Germany’s champions Bayer Leverkusen.
In other playoff matches, French champions PSG will face their Brest in all-French side fixtures, Portuguese side Benfica will entertain Monaco from France, while Juventus of Italy will have a date with Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.
7-time champions AC Milan of Italy were drawn against Feyenoord of the Netherlands, while Bayern Munich, who have won the title 6 times, will take on Scottish champions Celtic.
Sporting Lisbon of Portugal will play Borussia Dortmund of Germany, while Club Brugge of Belgium will face Atalanta Bergamo of Italy.
The round of 16 draw will take place on the 21st of next month.
First leg matches are scheduled for March 4 and 5, while the return legs will be played a week later.
The quarterfinals are scheduled for the first legs on April 8 and 9, with the return matches scheduled for April 15 and 16.
1st leg semi-finals are set for April 29–30, with return legs to follow a week later.
The final will be held on May 31st at the Munich Arena.
