The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has deployed investigators across regions where criminals have been destroying property in the guise of protests.

According to a statement by DCI on X, the investigators will pursue suspects captured on CCTV cameras and mobile phone recordings violently robbing, stealing and destroying properties and businesses of innocent citizens.

The DCI has also called on Kenyans whose businesses were affected by Tuesday’s nationwide protests to volunteer any footage and information that may have been captured in their premises to facilitate investigations.

“We appeal to property and business owners whose premises are installed with CCTV cameras, and which may have captured criminal activities being perpetuated, to grant access to our Imaging and Acoustic Unit detectives to retrieve the footage in the pursuit of justice to the affected persons.”The statement read.
