A suspected drug trafficker has been arrested in a police operation within Mombasa’s Jomvu and Kiembeni areas.

In a statement, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations(DCI) said Dominik Oseko Ngisa was driving a suspicious Toyota Axio in the Jomvu area along the Mombasa-Nairobi Road when he was arrested.

“Detectives from the Anti-Narcotics Unit Mombasa made a significant breakthrough by arresting Dominik Oseko Ngisa… A thorough search of the vehicle revealed large rolls of cannabis cleverly hidden in the boot, showcasing the lengths to which traffickers will go” the DCI said.

Oseko was arrested and taken into custody, along with the confiscated drugs, before being escorted to Jomvu Police Station for processing and pending arraignment.

In a simultaneous operation, officers from Kiembeni Police Station descended on a house near Kiembeni Primary School, where they seized six sacks of bhang.

However, the suspect managed to flee just as the officers arrived.

Meanwhile, detectives are intensifying their efforts to track down the elusive trafficker who narrowly escaped.
