Born and raised in Murang’a County, Kenya, Dasha Njeri Benson embarked on a journey at the age of 10 to make a positive impact on the world.
Her passion for mental health advocacy and environmental conservation stems from a deep-rooted desire to create a better future for the generations to come.
Despite her young age, Dasha has taken on the roles of a child mental health advocate and an environmentalist.
She believes that children’s voices matter and that they can make a difference in their communities.
Through her foundation, DATS Foundation, she strives to support the less fortunate, especially children, by providing them with essential resources and opportunities.
On the runway, Dasha was crowned Little Miss Kenya Murang’a County and received the Best Project award for her work under the DATS Foundation.
These accomplishments propelled her to win the title of Miss Fashionista Kenya.
Later, she represented Kenya in the Little Kids Africa Kenya pageant, where she emerged victorious.
Internationally, she has graced runways in nations such as Nigeria, where she competed in the Little Kids Africa pageant category and was crowned as the Little Miss Africa Queen Personality Ambassador.
In April, in support of autistic children, Dasha walked the runway in Uganda to raise funds for their daily needs.
“The experience was humbling and reinforced my commitment to helping those in need,” she said. As a recipient of the Little Miss Tranquility Kenya Cogneality Queen title, she strives to promote peace and unity among children within her community and beyond.
Her humanitarian efforts have been recognized by the Murang’a County government under the leadership of Governor Hon. Irung’u Kang’ata and the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports led by Hon. Ababu Namwamba.
Dasha draws her inspiration from supermodel Ajuma Nasanyana, whose dedication to education through the donation of books left a lasting impact on her.
Similarly, she aims to use her influence and resources to create positive change in the world.
Her journey as a 10-year-old model, advocate, and humanitarian underscores her commitment to creating a more compassionate and sustainable world for all.
