The government has reaffirmed commitment to fostering policies that support innovative and inclusive urban planning.

Speaking when she toured the Global Trade Centre (GTC), the Cabinet Secretary Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development Alice Wahome highlighted the importance of integrating innovative urban development strategies to accommodate the growing population and the changing dynamics of city living.

“The visit to GTC Nairobi marks a significant step in aligning Kenya’s urban development agenda with global standards, ensuring that the country remains at the forefront of architectural and infrastructural advancements in the region.” CS Wahome noted.

The Global Trade Centre (GTC) Nairobi stands as one of Kenya’s most iconic architectural developments, symbolizing the country’s rapid urbanization and the rise of luxury housing.

“More than just a landmark, GTC Nairobi serves as a model for modern urban development, influencing policies in housing, public works, and city planning. Its success provides valuable insights that can help shape a more inclusive, efficient, and sustainable urban future.” She added.

At 184 meters and 43 stories, GTC Nairobi is the tallest mixed-use development in East Africa, redefining the city’s skyline and setting new standards in contemporary urban planning.

“Together with PS for Housing and Urban Development Charles Hinga, PS for Public Works Joel Arumonyang, and National Construction Authority Executive Director Eng. Maurice Aketch, I had the privilege of touring this remarkable facility a true reflection of Kenya’s fast-growing and dynamic urban landscape.” CS Wahome added.
