Nelson Sechere

The Kenya Veterans for Peace (KVP) has appointed Nelson Sechere as the Oganisation’s Executive Director.

The Kenya Veterans for Peace comprises and focuses on individuals who have served in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and have either retired or resigned on Compassionate grounds after years of honourable service.

The Kenya Veterans for Peace was founded and registered in 2008 following a Government resolution and approval on the same.

The Oganisation's main Objective was and is to bring KDF Military Veterans together to give back to the Society and Compliment the Government on Peace Building, Security and Development using their wealthy bonafide experience as Volunteer Service out of Active Service in Retirement after 2007/2008 Post General Elections Violence.

Later in 2022 former President Uhuru Kenyatta signed into law the Kenya Defence Forces Military Veteran bill of 2022 currently referred as i(Kenya Defence Forces Military Veterans Act 2022.

The Act establishes a regulatory framework for the management of KDF Military Veterans affairs including benefits to military veterans and their dependents.

The transition from military service to civilian life comes with its own share of challenges, sometimes characterised by a period of vagueness and disruption and the Kenya Veterans for Peace Comes in Handy.
