Farmers calling on KWS to intervene and save them the agony brought about by the Jumbos

Farmers drawn from Kabao area in Mutuati, Igembe North Sub-County in Meru County are crying foul over what they say is the invasion of their farms by elephants that are destroying their crops.

The farmers say that they had high hopes of a good harvest after a long period of drought in the area but now such hopes have been watered down by the Jumbos from Meru National Park who have invaded the farms.

They are now calling on the national government through Kenya Wildlife Service to come to their rescue by driving away the Jumbos from their farms as the animals also pose danger to their  lives.

The farmers also demand to be compensated by the national government adding that they wholly depend on farming for a living.
