Mitigation efforts underway in Mandera amid biting drought

The ravaging drought in northern part of country is increasingly making life difficult as pastoralist communities continue to lose their livestock.

The effects of drought are severe in all parts of Mandera County in 40 years due to failed rainfall in three to four consecutive years.

Non-State actors based in the county are doing all they can to mitigate the dire situation of the ravaging drought.

Action against Hunger is such an organization that is stepping up mitigation efforts by distributing some 20,800 bags of drought pellets equivalent which is equivalent of 20.8 metric tons to Arabia and Kutulo sub-counties.

Mandera County Government led by CEC for Public Service Bare Mohamed lauded the efforts of all non-state actors in helping mitigating the effects of the severe drought facing Mandera County.
