Clergy call for truce over disputed land in Ngong

A section of the clergy drawn from Kajiado County has called for a truce over a disputed piece of land in Ngong area.

Led by Bishop Peter Mankura of Dominion Church the bishops under Keekonyokie house of Bishops called on warring factions to seek peaceful means and avert skirmishes.

They appealed to the National Lands Commission (NLC) to urgently address the issue.

In a statement read by Bishop Peter Olonapa of Liberty Church, the clergy appealed to the Keekonyokie to stay calm and patient as a solution is sought.

They asked those carrying out the subdivision of the land to stop and await a peaceful resolution to the issue.

The move comes barely a day after the government suspended further subdivision of the prime 2,700 acre piece of land.
