Homabay Deputy Governor Oyugi Magwanga has reiterated the commitment of the County Government to it's ten point development agenda that focuses on transformational change.
DG Magwanga cited the mix of youth, experience, regional balance and professionalism during the appointment of County Executives as an indicator of the said seriousness.
Speaking during the homecoming ceremony of Roads Executive Danish Onyango in Kabondo West, the Deputy Governor expressed optimism that the appointed executives were equal to their task.
"Let me reveal that Danish Onyango is an accomplished performer with the relevant experience in the roads sector after having worked with the national government. DG Magwanga explained.
On development, he confirmed that the County had put measures in place to ensure the functionality of village and ward driven development approach.
DG Magwanga explained that the approach would put power of decision making at the grassroot level for the benefit of the local residents as was envisaged by the spirit of devolution.
The DG also briefed residents of plans to boost food production through mechanized agriculture and value addition.
On his part, Danish Onyango the Roads executive promised to deliver on the trust bestowed on him by the appointing authority and the residents of Homabay County.
The CEC divulged that the Member of the County Assembly had already shared the priority list of roads in their jurisdictions that required immediate attention.
During the event, CEC Onyango was also inaugurated as a community leader in Kabondo and issued with traditional regalia to symbolize the new status.
The event was also attended and addressed by the County Assembly Speaker Julius Gaya, Majority Leader Richard Ogindo, Fellow CEC of all the sectors, County staff, family members, friends and the general public.
