Cop shoots husband dead, claims it was self defense

Police in Uasin Gishu County have arrested a police officer following a suspected murder.

The cop attached to the Critical Infrastructure Protection Unit (CIPU) and deployed to the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) office in Eldoret is suspected to have shot dead her husband in cold blood.

According to a police report, the duo got into a quarrel before she left for work. She later returned to the house to check on her children and is believed to have been attacked by her husband with a knife.

At that point, the officer shot the husband in self-defense.

Police officers rushed to the scene and found him lying on his bed with several bullet wounds.

An AK47 rifle, 11 cartridges, and three bullet heads were recovered at the scene.

The scene was processed and the body moved to MTRH Mortuary awaiting a postmortem examination.
