Construction of Talanta Hela Stadium oncourse, set for completion this year

The Ongoing construction of the Talanta Hela Stadium in Jamhuri,Nairobi is set to be completed by the end of this year.

A cabinet dispatch issued on Tuesday, March 11th put the  construction works as at 40%.

‘’The cabinet was also briefed on the progress of the Talanta Hela Stadium at Jamhuri Park, Nairobi, which is now 40% complete’’, the communique reads.

The construction of the 60,000 capacity soccer stadium began  in March 2024.

The Facility is one of the three stadia earmarked to host the 2027 Africa Cup Of Nations,AFCON finals. Kenya will co-host the championship alongside her East Africa neighbors Uganda and Tanzania.

‘’Once finished, the 60,000- seater stadium will be Kenya’s largest, with the government aiming to complete it by the end of this year. This underscores its commitment to modernizing sports infrastructure’’, the Cabinet dispatch stated.

The three Countries are set to host the Africa Nations Championship,CHAN,  tournament fashioned for players who play in their respective domestic leagues in  August 2025.

Meanwhile  The Cabinet has approved the hosting of the 2025 World Rally Championship WRC Safari Rally, set to take place from the 20th  to the 23rd  of this month in Naivasha, Nakuru County.

The 2025 edition has attracted 39 drivers, including defending champion Kalle Rovanperä of Finland, Welsh driver Elfyn Evans, Belgium’s Thierry Neuville, and Estonia’s Ott Tänak among others.
