Tanzanian comedian Umar Lahbedi Issa better known to his fans as Mzee wa Mjegeje has reportedly passed away.
The comedian who made popular the phrase “Kata Simu Tupo Site” was receiving treatment at the Mwananyamala Hospital Dar es Salaam on Wednesday, March 20.
Reports of his death were confirmed by his manager, Real Jimmy who did not disclose the cause of death.
The phrase earned him regional recognition beyond Tanzania and became one of the most used constructed languages in Kenya.
