Kenya Chess League leaders KCB are hopeful of registering impressive results at the Mombasa Open scheduled Saturday and Sunday at Mombasa Beach Hotel.
59 players have enlisted to participate in the Tournament.top regional chess players and emerging will be gunning for various prize purses in different categories.
KCB Chess Team will be captained by Candidate Master Benjamin Magana, who will be joined by FIDE Masters Martin Njoroge and Joyce Nyaruai, Bernard Nguku, and rising whizz Robert McLigeyo among others.
The overall winner will bag KShs. 50,000, KShs. 20,000 will be warded to the lady winner while junior winners will receive trophies.
KCB will be banking on its form in the national league where it leads the standings ahead of Equity Chess Club, Nairobi Chess Club, and Nairobi Chess Academy Club.
