2024 New York City Marathon champion Sheila Chepkirui won the 2025 edition of the Nagoya women’s marathon held early today in Japan.
The 34 year old old registered her 2nd consecutive marathon win after clocking 2 hours 20 minutes and 40 seconds,19 seconds ahead of 2nd placed Sayaka Sato of Japan who finished while Kenyan born Bahrain Eunice Chumba completed podium positions in 2:21:35.
Despite missing out on Ruth Chepngetich’s 2022 course record of 2:17:18 ,the KDF officer will pocket ksh 32.5 million from her today’s victory in which she was paced by Janeth Jepkosgei.
