The Confederation of African Football(CAF), has announced new dates for the 8th edition of the African Nations Championship (CHAN).
According to the CAF Executive meeting held in Rabat, Morocco, on the 27th of January, the tournaments, which will be co-hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania, will be held from the 2nd until the 30th of August.
CAF moved the tournament from February to August to give room for host countries to prepare adequately.
According to the CHAN draw, which was conducted on the 15th of this month in Nairobi, Kenya was placed in Group A alongside two-time winners Morocco and DR Congo, Angola, and Zambia.
Co-host Tanzania will play in Group B alongside Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso, and the Central African Republic, while Group C consists of 3rd Co-hosts Uganda, Niger, and Guinea and two teams yet to qualify.
Defending champions Teranga Lions of Senegal are in group C, where they will face Congo Brazzaville, Sudan, and Nigeria.
