Residents of Baringo South are appealing to President William Ruto to consider their constituency for a nomination in the next batch of Cabinet Secretaries.

The locals say that since independence, their constituency has not received any ministerial post.

“We urge the President to remember the residents of Baringo South as he prepares nominations for the second batch of Cabinet Secretaries. We have educated youth, women, and men who are equal to the task,” they said.

Last week, the President named his first 11 Cabinet Secretaries, promising to name the rest after wide consultations to form a broad-based government.

The nominees in the first batch of Cabinet Secretaries include:

  • Kithure Kindiki – Ministry of Interior and National Administration
  • Dr. Debra Mulongo Barasa – Ministry of Health
  • Alice Wahome – Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing, and Urban Development
  • Julius Ogamba – Ministry of Education
  • Aden Duale – Ministry of Defence
  • Dr. Andrew Karanja – Ministry of Agriculture
  • Soipan Tuya – Ministry of Environment, Climate Change, and Forestry
  • Eric Muriithi – Ministry of Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation
  • Davis Chirchir – Ministry of Roads and Transport
  • Dr. Margaret Ndungu – Ministry of Information, Communications, and the Digital Economy
  • Rebecca Miano – Attorney General
