Loyiso Gola, Q Dube, Celeste Ntuli, and more to headline 4th Laugh Festival

Africa’s biggest comedy event, the Laugh Festival is set to take place at the KICC Tsavo Ballroom on December 10th.
This is will be the fourth edition of the Laugh Festival and the first in-person event since COVID-19 produced and presented by Laugh Industry - Kenya’s biggest comedy company.
Laugh Industry CEO and founder Daniel ‘Churchill’ Ndambuki will host the best Kenyan comedians alongside their international counterparts including Celeste Ntuli (South Africa), Salvado (Uganda), Daliso Chaponda (Malawi), Loyiso Gola (South Africa), Q-Dube (Zimbabwe) and Oga Bachelor (Nigeria).

Loyiso Gola
Loyiso Gola is a high-profile South African stand-up comedian, with a 30-minute Netflix special and appearances on Britain’s most prestigious comedy shows like Live At The Apollo, Mock The Week, and QI just to mention a few.
He hosted 12 seasons of the two-time International Emmy-nominated satirical news show “Late Nite News with Loyiso Gola”, and was the African correspondent for Charlie Pickering’s The Weekly on ABC in Australia.
CNN recently featured Loyiso on their African Voices series.
Celeste Ntuli
Celeste Ntuli is a South African comedian and actress. She is popularly referred to as the queen of Zulu comedy and is known for being the first South African female comic to record a one-woman show DVD.
She was a finalist on season 2 of SABC 1’s “So You Think You’re Funny” competition in 2009 and soon after began her professional career in comedy in 2010.
She has performed in top Comedy Shows including the Blacks Only comedy showcase 2010 and 2012, SA Comic’s Choice Awards 2012 and the first Stand Up Zulu comedy show at the Durban Playhouse, in 2011.
As an actress, she has starred in several movies, and shows, including “Isibaya”, “10 Days In Sun City”, “Lockdown”, “Looking For Love”, “Cadbury ad”, “Laugh Out Loud” on Mzansi Magic, “Curry and Rice”, “LNN Show”, and Tripping with Skhumba.
Also, she was one of the few comedians featured in Netflix’s comedy show “Only Jokes Allowed.”
Salvado
Salvado, who once worked as a telecommunications engineer, has experienced a meteoric rise in the seven years since he became runners-up in MNET’s Standup Uganda in 2009. He is now considered one of the preeminent names in East African comedy.
Q Dube
Award-winning comedian Zimbabwean Nqobizitha Mitchel Dube, popularly known as Q Dube is a multi-talented stand-up comedian, radio personality, TV presenter, actor, voice-over artist and MC.
After his recent move to the USA, he has performed as a comic in Indiana, Chicago, Texas as well as New York at numerous major Comedy festivals namely HIFA, SHOKO Festival, Johannesburg International Comedy Festival and Swaziland Bushre.
Oga Bachelor
Oga Bachelor wears many hats but he is well-known for delivering comical performances, either as an event host, a stand-up comedian or as a hype man. He has worked as an actor and model which have earned him the nickname Jack of all Trades. Oga originally from Nigeria is currently based in Nairobi.
Daliso Chaponda
Daliso Chaponda has been a stand-up comedian since 2001 beginning his career in Canada. He moved to the UK in 2006 where he opened for comedians such as John Bishop.
In 2008, his comedy earned him a spot in the Edinburgh Fringe “Best of the Fest” list. Daliso is also the writer, creator, and host of his Rose d’Or nominated BBC Radio 4 show “Citizen of Nowhere” which aired for two series.
He shot to fame on “Britain’s Got Talent”, making it to the final of the 2017 series. He has performed around the world and at the Edinburgh, Melbourne, Singapore, and Cape Town comedy festivals.
In addition, to stand-up comedy, Daliso is also a prolific fiction writer. He has published science fiction, murder mysteries and fantasy fiction in numerous magazines, and anthologies. He is currently working on his new novel and a children’s book.
