Apostle James Maina Ng’ang’a has expressed his support for the government’s Affordable Housing Program following a courtesy visit, Wednesday, to Cabinet Secretary, Ministry of Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, Alice Wahome.

The visit comes days after Apostle Ng’ang’a’s controversial remarks about Affordable Housing project.

However, this latest engagement indicates a shift in his stance, as he now shows interest in mobilizing his followers to participate in the program.

In a statement, CS Wahome said their discussion with Apostle Nganga focused on the initiative’s benefits and ways to enhance public awareness.

“This engagement is part of our continuous efforts to educate and create awareness among Kenyans about the opportunities available through this transformative initiative.” She said.

Adding that: “Apostle Ng’ang’a’s visit is both inspiring and impactful. His interest in understanding the program reflects the growing awareness and support from various sectors of society.” She remarked, adding that “During our discussion, I offered to guide him through the process of acquiring affordable housing and educate him on the program’s structure and benefits.”

Also in attendance was Sheila Waweru, CEO of the Affordable Housing Board, who provided key insights into the program’s objectives and progress.

The CS noted that the Affordable Housing Program is not just about constructing houses, it is about providing dignity, security, and economic empowerment to millions of Kenyans.

According to CS Wahome, the government aims to construct one million housing units over the next five years, which will directly and indirectly benefit over 15 million Kenyans.

“Our goal is ambitious yet achievable: to deliver one million housing units in the next five years, reaching over 15 million Kenyans directly and indirectly. This effort also aligns with Article 43 of the Kenyan Constitution, which guarantees every citizen the right to accessible and adequate housing.” She emphasized.

On his part, Apostle Ng’ang’a pledged his commitment to the program and offered to mobilize people, help them make deposits, and support them as they continue with the payment plans.

“Bwana amegeuza yote, imekuwa ni baraka. Kukataliwa sio mwisho!” Apostle Ng’ang’a shared, emphasizing the transformative nature of the program.
