Amar Shah and Chloe Chiuri reign at second leg of Junior Golf Golf Championship at Limuru

Amar Shah emerged the winner of the boys 13-14 years category during the second leg of the Junior Golf Foundation Championship held at Limuru Country Club.

The category elicited stiff competition with very small margins separating the top four.

Amar Shah registered a score of 3 over par 75 to come home victorious. Amar played level par in all holes in the first nine except the par three 7th hole where he picked a bogey. In the second nine, he picked two consecutive birdies in hole 15 and 16.

He was let down by four bogeys in the second nine for the overall score of three over.

Amar was a clear four shots ahead of second-placed Peter Gathogo who had a score of 7 over par 79.

Gathogo beat 3rd placed Kahir Ladak by only one stroke. Kagame Handa and Nathan Masika tied for fourth with a score of nine over par 81, just one stroke behind Ladak in 3rd position.

The girls 11-12 years category was also competitive with only four strokes separating the first and the fourth position.

Chloe Chiuri emerged the winner with a score of seven over par 79.

Ashley Gachora and Muthoni Kioi tied for second position with a score of eight over par 80, one shot behind the winner.

Hope Oduor was not far behind as she finished third with a score of 10 over par 82, only one shot behind Gachora and Kioi.

There was another tie in the fifth position, Zianna Khoda and Ashley Muyela finishing another one stroke behind Oduor.

The tournament attracted a total of 137 golfers.The tournament is set to continue this month with three more legs scheduled including the inter schools championship.
