Preparations for the swearing-in of Meru Deputy Governor Isaac Mutuma as the fourth Governor of Meru are in high gear at Mwendatu Grounds in Meru Town.
According to Dr. Kiambi Atheru, Meru County Secretary and Chairperson of the Assumption of Office Committee, all arrangements are complete and event organizers are finalizing the last details ahead of the ceremony.
Atheru stated that the event will begin at 8:30 AM, after which Governor Mutuma will proceed to the Meru County Government offices, where he is expected to address county staff.
Following his address, the governor will attend a luncheon, marking the conclusion of the celebrations.
Meru County Commissioner Jacob Ouma assured the public that all security measures have been put in place, guaranteeing maximum security for attendees.
He also urged residents to turn up in large numbers to witness the historic occasion.
The swearing-in of the deputy governor as the fourth Meru governor follows the High Court’s decision to uphold the Senate’s impeachment of Governor Kawira Mwangaza on Friday, March 14, 2025.
