Tanzanian bongo star Ali Kiba has earned widespread praise for his resilience and electrifying performance at the Raha Festival’s New Year’s Eve concert in Nairobi.

The event faced disruptions when unexpected crashers prompted police to deploy tear gas, temporarily halting the show.

However, Ali Kiba returned to the stage once calm was restored, delivering a performance that thrilled fans and cemented his reputation as a true music icon.

Taking to social media, the Bongo Flava sensation thanked his Nairobi audience for their unwavering support.

“NAIROBI ❤️ Thank you for making 2025 so special. #RahaFest was awesome! Thank you all kwa kuimba na kucheza mwanzo mwisho (for singing and dancing from start to end). Until next time, asanteni sana (thank you very much). Time ijayo nitakuja nimezoea teargas (next time, I’ll come prepared for the teargas).”

He also reflected on his first encounter with tear gas, humorously declaring, “The show must go on! #RAHAFest – Hapa Amani Tu (only peace here).”
