Airtel Kenya has announced plans to established additional 100 5G sites across the country taking total sites to 472 by end of this year.
Airtel Kenya Managing Director Ashish Malhotra said the roll out of the new 5G sites will take its 5G network to 221 wards from the current 180 wards and expand the coverage to 32 counties from 15.
“The 5G network is more about faster internet, connecting people, businesses, and communities in ways that were once unimaginable,” he added.
Since commercial launch in July this year, the firm says plans to achieve 100pc 5G network coverage in Kenya is on course as the telco seeks additional customers using the network.
“Our commitment to innovation and connectivity remains unwavering, and we’re excited to be a part of this new era of possibilities,” said Malhotra
He added that the strategy will also enable more individual consumers, homes and businesses get access to the high speed, low latency, and seamless connection of several devices.
