Aaron Rimbui to release new album ‘Imani’

New York-based Kenyan jazz maestro Aaron Rimbui is set to release his latest album titled ‘Imani’, a collection of original compositions performed in his signature Kenyan jazz piano style. 

The album reflects a personal journey of healing and growth for Rimbui, who overcame numerous challenges, including a life-threatening fire incident during his teenage years where he suffered second-degree burns on his body and severely injured his hands.

Throughout his healing, he showed remarkable resilience, learning to play the piano and eventually becoming one of Africa’s most celebrated jazz artists.  

With a career spanning two decades, Rimbui is an award-winning pianist known for blending traditional Kenyan sounds with jazz through his exceptional piano work.

Beyond releasing critically acclaimed albums, he has held notable roles such as leading the Tusker Project Fame band and headlining prominent jazz festivals.  

He has graced several international stages and showcased his musical prowess at major events such as the Safaricom Jazz Festival, All That Jazz Festival, Jahazi Jazz Festival, Dar Jazz Event, and the Winter Jazz Festival in Copenhagen.

He has also collaborated with top Kenyan musicians Eric Wainaina, Atemi, Suzanna Owiyo, and Sauti Sol creating memorable hits.
