Kenya Broadcasting Corporation (KBC) has expressed regret over the publication of a recent poll ranking the performance of Principal Secretaries.

In a statement, Managing Director Agnes Kalekye explained that the poll did not consider the extensive government data available on performance across ministries nor did it reference the status of the Bottom-Up Agenda.

“Our attention has been drawn to a poll posted on our social media pages ranking the performances of Principal Secretaries. We have since established that the poll lacks essential details regarding the questions asked, the specific issues addressed, the sample size and distribution, and the methodology of data analysis,” she said.

Kalekye assured the public of the national broadcaster’s commitment to maintaining the highest editorial standards, adding that measures have been implemented to prevent such errors in the future.

“The management of KBC regrets this oversight and assures the public that we are committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity in our reporting. We have taken steps to ensure that such errors are not repeated,” she said.
