Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale, has assumed the full responsibilities of Acting CS for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development.
The change on Tuesday follows the Cabinet reshuffle announced on December 19, 2024, by the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei, which saw immediate former Agriculture and Livestock Development CS, Dr. Andrew Karanja, nominated as Kenya’s ambassador to Brazil.
During a brief handover ceremony at Kilimo House, Dr. Karanja expressed his gratitude to the staff for their support and wished the incoming team success in achieving the Ministry’s objectives.
The event was attended by Principal Secretary (PS) for Agriculture, Dr. Paul Kiprono; PS for Livestock Development, Jonathan Mueke; Agriculture Secretary, Collin Marangu; and Secretary for Administration, Rashid Khator, all of whom thanked Dr. Karanja for his dedicated service and pledged their support for the new leadership.
Duale reiterated his commitment to advancing the Ministry’s mandate, prioritising food security, and ensuring a smooth transition to the new leadership.
Mutahi Kagwe has been nominated as the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture and Livestock Development, alongside other newly appointed cabinet and diplomatic nominees, who are awaiting vetting by the National Assembly.
