The much-anticipated Nairobi Provincial Cricket Association (NPCA) 50-Overs Division 2 title chase is well and truly on a roll!

But the million-dollar question purists are asking as the fight continues to take shape is: who will win it?

The title fight is indeed a two-horse race between leaders Ngara Sports Club B and second- placed Stray Lions C who are clearly angling for the coveted title with zest and vigor.

But having not played a match last weekend, Stray Lions C are back in the saddle this weekend and on a spirited mission to dislodge leaders Ngara B from the summit.

Ngara B have played a total of 11 matches against Stray Lions C’s 9, an opportunity for the latter to leverage on the former’s absence.

Ngara B has no fixture this weekend but will definitely be as keen as a bean to ascertain just what transpires on week 15 this Sunday.

Stray Lions C Play Wolves B at Viraj International Academy and should they prevail in this one, they’ll have cut down Ngara B’s 6-points lead to 2.

Ngara B currently top Division 2 log with a cumulative points total of 36, meaning that if the Lions beat Wolves, they’ll be on 34.

Stray Lions C skipper Subin Abraham is optimistic of a good result this weekend. As a unit, Subin believes they’re doing much better.

Out of nine matches Stray Lions C has played, they have lost only once by 3 wickets to Stray Leopards B.

“So, we have a very good chance to win the 50 over league but then again, it’s important to note that matches are crucial for us.”

Subin avers that the essence has been to understand their opponent strengths and weaknesses, knowing the pitch conditions and having a game plan tailored to the situation.

The Lions are looking for a win against Wolves ostensibly to pile the much-needed pressure on their South C adversaries.

In other division two matches, Stray Leopards B face Obuya B at Impala whilst Swamibapa Development have a date with the GI Unicorns B at Jamhuri. An-nadil Jamaly will be up against Legends CC at Saifee Park.

The Division One and Super Division titles have already been taken by Kanbis A and B respectively and focus will be on who prevails in Division Two.
