International director, Janet Wells has debuted  ‘Boda Love’, her most recent endeavor that showcases Kenya’s breathtaking scenery.

The film, which stars Dancun Murunyu and Greer Date-Foulkes, captures the essence of Kenya through its real depiction of life in the country.

A British blonde woman, Charlotte (Greer Date) gets entangled with a scammer who promises to marry her, but ends up stealing her house and car, and eventually sends thugs to steal everything from her, which leaves her sad and lonely.

Jabari, a humble ‘boda guy’ (Dancun Murunyu) offers her an opportunity to stay with his family, where things take a turn and the two fall in love.

Speaking during the premiere, Wells said the inspiration for the movie began when she first came to Kenya in 2019.

“I wanted to celebrate Kenya after coming in here and falling in love with the people of Kenya and the country itself.

“I had never been in Africa before, and so the Country’s beauty perplexed me. And I wanted to show other countries the beauty of Africa, of Kenya in particular.’’

Meanwhile, Dancun Murunyu, who plays Jabari attributed the film’s success to his fellow actors.

“The characters I worked with in that movie were very structured. I was able to encompass our audience’s emotions because each one of them played their character well,” he said.

The film also boasts original music from Billy Black and Njoki Karu.

The film will be available to watch through the weekend and the week at the Diamond Plaza, Anga cinema with shows at 3pm and 7pm.
