PS Muthoni launches long-lasting insecticidal treated mosquito nets in Kilifi

Principal Secretary Mary Muthoni Thursday launched long-lasting insecticidal treated mosquito nets in Kilifi County.

The initiative aims to reduce malaria transmission and enhance public health, focusing on vulnerable populations and equitable access to preventive measures.

Speaking in Kilifi, the PS who was accompanied by Deputy Governor Flora Mbetsa Chebule and Health CEC Peterson Mwarogo, emphasized preventive healthcare against malaria.

Since November 2023, 8,973,904 nets have been distributed in 14 counties, benefiting 17,418,202 people.

Kilifi received 1,121,621 nets for 1.7 million people, with 287,985 households registered.

“Today, we engaged in a productive meeting with Kilifi County’s distinguished leadership. Our focus was on evaluating healthcare programs, addressing challenges, and strategizing to improve healthcare delivery.” She said.

Adding that: “We discussed initiatives such as distributing treated mosquito nets to combat malaria.”
