Over 1,000 participants attend China-Kenya Traditional Medicine Cooperation Exhibition

More than 1,000 participants converged in Nairobi, Kenya, for the 2024 China-Kenya Traditional Medicine Cooperation Exhibition ,which was hosted by Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Kenyatta University, and the Kenya Chinese Chamber of Commerce (Shandog).

The exhibition featured a diverse array of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) displays, including medicinal herbs, herbal teas, massage stick, and acupuncture models.

Visitors had the opportunity to learn about the ancient practices and philosophies behind TCM, gaining insights into its holistic approach to health and wellness.

According to Pius Rotich, General Manager of Kenya Invest Authority, This exhibition has fostered a deeper understanding and mutual respect between Kenya and China cultures, he also highlighted the potential for collaboration in health and wellness sectors.

The exchange of knowledge and expertise during this exhibition is a testament to the strong and growing partnership between China and Kenya.

Phyllis Kandie, Advisor Commodities Markets Development, Executive Office of the President, State House noted that, the exhibition showcased the rich heritage and innovative practices of traditional medicine from both China and Kenya.

As the knowledge and expertise shared during the exhibition will undoubtedly pave the way for enhanced cooperation and integration of traditional medical practices in Kenya’s healthcare systems.

Addressing the press ,Dr. Chen acknowledged that he felt privileged to share the principles and benefits of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with attendees, and was was deeply impressed by the enthusiasm and openness of everyone involved.

Noting that the personalised sessions allowed him to demonstrate the effectiveness and holistic approach of TCM, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of this ancient practice.

The exhibition offered a platform for sharing knowledge, fostering mutual understanding, and exploring the potential for integrating traditional Chinese medicine into Kenya’s healthcare system.
