Kenya chairs UNAIDS programme coordinating board meeting

Kenya chaired the 54th UNAIDS Programme Coordinating Board Meeting at WHO Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, Wednesday.

The meeting which is taking place from June 25 to 27, 2024, is the governance mechanism overseeing UNAIDS, which unites efforts of Member States, 11 UN organisations, and NGOs, including associations of People Living with HIV, to combat AIDS was chaired by Kenya’s Principal Secretary for the State Department of Medical Services Harry Kimtai.

Chairing the PCB drives Kenya to address programmatic issues related to policy, strategy, finance, and monitoring and evaluation of HIV/AIDS efforts, helping to achieve the goal of ending AIDS by 2030.
