Embu Law Courts judicial staff and advocates on Tuesday morning held a peaceful walk to mourn the tragic death of Makadara Principal Magistrate Monica Kivuti who was shot on Thursday last week.
Carrying placards with inscriptions “Stop the Killings Judicial Lives Matters” the staff walked from the Embu Law Courts along Embu-Meru Highway to Embu Town approximately half a kilometer and back where they held prayers to mourn and condole with the family of the departed magistrate.
“We are doing this in solidarity with out fallen heroin who died in line of duty and under very unfortunate circumstances,” said Environment and Land Courts Judge Antony Kaniaru.
He said this incident should serve a wake a call for all those concerned that the security of the judicial officers should be taken seriously.
