Adrien Formaux: Safari Rally podium finish a boost ahead of a grueling WRC season

French rally star Adrien Fourmaux will be banking on his recent third place finish at last weekend’s WRC Safari Rally to register impressive run in this seasons WRC.

The 28-year old driver recently inked a Ksh.20Million sponsorship deal with M-PESA.

Navigated by Alexandre Coria in the M-Sport’s Ford Puma, the French rally star clocked a time of 3:38:29.1 to secure third place in the rally, finishing 1 minute and 37 seconds behind second placed Toyota Yaris’ Takamoto Katsuta and 2 minutes and 25 seconds behind the winner Kalle Rovanpera.

“It was an amazing experience racing through tough terrains and unpredictable weather conditions. I am happy to have finished and made it to the podium. This is a significant improvement from my last Safari Rally performance, and I hope to do even better next time to make my fans even happier. I want to thank my fans and sponsors, including M-PESA, for their support,” said Adrien Fourmaux

“The sponsorship deal will allow Adrien’s Ford Puma Hybrid Rally1 to display the M-PESA branding for the Safari Rally in Kenya, while his overalls will carry the branding for the rest of the season”,read. Statement from Safaricom.

The performance in Naivasha had him collect 17 points,to be ranked 3rd on the overall standings after 3 rounds with 46 points,21 off series leader Thiery Neuville.

After Kenya the world circuit heads to Croatia for the fourth round scheduled April 21st.
