Govt, KMTC to construct building worth Ksh100M to accommodate more students

The National Government through the Ministry of Health and Kenya Medical Training College Nairobi will construct a four storeyed building worth Ksh100m to be undertaken in three phases.

Addressing the press after the ground breaking ceremony outside the college at Kocholia, Teso North Member of Parliament, Oku Kaunya said phase one to the tune of Ksh35million will have an administration block, two skills laboratories, and lecturer room.

The first phase will entail the completion of the ground floor.

The legislator said that it is part of expansion plans for the college aimed at creating more space to accommodate more students engaged in clinical medicine, nursing, and other courses, and thanked Health CS Susan Nakhumicha for allocating funds for the building’s construction and thanked Heath .

The MP also presented Ksh.5.3million cheque to the college principal, Daniel Kurui, and his deputy Cyrus Shivira.

The cheque is part of Ksh.10m, being NG-CDF sponsorship of 120 students undertaking various courses at the college.
