A police officer who shot two people at a famous Nakuru night club has been charged with murder.
Police Constable Nicholas Musyoka Musau, based in Nakuru Central Police Station was on Wednesday charged with the murder of Ann Maina and Laura Kaswira at the Nakuru High Court.
The accused pleaded not guilty to the charges of killing the two women on the night of 12th December, 2023.
It is alleged that the cop was uncomfortable paying a bill of Ksh14,250 after he consumed drinks and food with friends at the club after which he shot four people.
Two of them succumbed to bullet injuries while the other two survived with serious wounds.
The prosecution opposed an application for the accused person’s release on bond or bail.
The matter was adjourned to 17th January, 2024, to allow the probation department to submit a Pre-Bail report that will guide the court in determining the bond terms.
