First Lady’s office partners Huawei to empower women through digital literacy

The office of First Lady Rachel Ruto has entered into a partnership with Huawei, a global leader in information and communication technology (ICT) infrastructure and smart devices.

Through the MaMa Doing Good organization, the First Lady’s office noted that the collaboration is aimed at empowering women across Kenya by imparting essential digital skills, thereby bridging the digital divide and profoundly impacting lives.

“At MaMa Doing Good, our mission has always revolved around forging a brighter, more equitable future for all. We firmly believe that empowering women with digital literacy is a pivotal stride toward realizing this vision,” said the organization in a statement

The organization says Huawei Kenya’s unwavering dedication to advancing women’s empowerment perfectly aligns with our own aspirations, making this partnership a natural and powerful union.

Dr. John Chumo, CEO of MaMa Doing Good, emphasized the significance of partnership as the cornerstone of the initiative, stating, “Together, we are stronger, and we wholeheartedly support women in their journey to acquire essential digital skills.”

The collaboration with Huawei Kenya encompasses various key areas, as delineated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that we proudly signed.

This partnership transcends being merely an agreement; it symbolizes a shared commitment to building an equitable society where every individual, especially women, can lead lives that are not just happy and fulfilled, but profoundly transformed. It resonates deeply with Kenya’s Vision 2030, underlining the paramount importance of digital literacy and economic empowerment on our nation’s roadmap to progress.
