Rugby: Mwanja names Olympic qualifiers bound squad

National rugby sevens team head coach Denis Mwanja has named debutant Mourine Morito in the 12 member team that’s set to participate in the Paris 2024 Olympics Games qualifiers set for October 14th-15th in Tunisia.

Head coach David Mwanja has included Nakuru RFC player Morine Morito in the Kenya squad that will be seeking to qualify for the Olympic games for the third time on the trot.

Also named in the squad that will be captained by Japan based Grace Adhiambo is Janet Okelo also based in Japan, Sharon Auma ,Stella Wafula Phoebe Akinyi and Judith Okumu.

Kenya will play Madagascar,Zambia and Ghana in pool B while group A consist hosts Tunisia alongside south Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

Meanwhile the national women’s 15’s rugby team that will participate in the inaugural WXV3 due in Dubai from October 13th -4TH Nov. is set to leave the country on Friday. Head coach Paul Murunga has named 25 players skippered by Enid Ouma.

Mwamba RFC players Mourine chebet and Edith Naliaka are set to make their debut in Dubai.

Kenya will open the campaign against Spain on October 14th before playing Kazakhstan and Colombia.
