Ministries, State Departments, and Agencies which had not migrated to the designated Paybill 222222 have been directed to do so by Tuesday.
At the same time, a compliance status report must be submitted by the end of August 8th by all Ministries and State Departments, along with a report on all services planned for onboarding onto the e-Citizen platform by the deadline of August 11 at 5 PM
While issuing this directive, recently, president William Ruto said the move is meant to ensure treasury has sight of every government service that is paid for.
While introducing the State’s new digital services on June 30, President Ruto said the government could not account for some of the PayBill numbers used by various government agencies.
The move is part of the government’s plan for digitizing government services, which designates eCitizen as the digital payments platform and Pay Bill Number 222222 as the government’s single payment platform.
