Liverpool to keep running away with it?

Liverpool have established themselves as the runaway favourites for the Premier League title, but keeping up a ferocious pace at the top of the log will be a new mental challenge for manager Arne
Slot and his players.

A home match against Fulham on Saturday afternoon is exactly the kind of match they are expected to win with relative comfort… so, will they keep up their head of steam
or will complacency set in?

Villa can’t see the Forest for the trees
Aston Villa were one of the best teams in the Premier League last season, but this time around the challenge of balancing their UEFA Champions League campaign with domestic duties has been a
major challenge.

An away clash against high-flying Nottingham Forest on Saturday evening could be another stumbling block for Unai Emery and his charges.

A derby that isn’t a derby

Brighton & Hove Albion v Crystal Palace is sometimes called the A23 or M23 derby (referring to the roadway that links Sussex and South London) but it isn’t a true derby in any real sense.
However, the rivalry between the two clubs remains a vicious one, with confrontations between players on-field and supporters off-field not unusual. In other words, expect a spicy battle on Sunday afternoon!

A derby that very much is a derby
Manchester City v Manchester United is, by contrast to the Brighton v Palace game earlier the same day, very much a true derby. And this particular edition will have a whole new vibe to it:
rather than City outclassing United en route to more glory, as has been the case in recent years, this time around the team in light blue are reeling from a run of rotten form, while the Red Devils
are still finding their feet under new manager Ruben Amorim. The result of this one is almost impossible to predict, as a result.

Sunday night double dose
With Monday 16 December being either a public holiday, or the start of the festive season vacation for most people, what better way to enjoy a more ‘chilled’ time of year than with
concurrent Premier League matches on Sunday night? Chelsea will host Brentford for a West London derby, while the latest edition of ‘Southampton try to play out from the back but are
terrible at it’ will see the Saints host Tottenham Hotspur at St Mary’s Stadium.
