200 to take part in KCB Series leg at Vetlab

A  field of over 200 golfers is set to take  part in the KCB East Africa Golf Tour at the Vetlab Sports Club.

The 18-hole course will see top golfers from Nairobi and its environs battle it out for the top spots.

“KCB has played a pivotal role in elevating golf in the East African region through its golf series. For the second year running, we are part of this amazing initiative that will go a long way in fostering the golfing culture in Kenya and beyond. We expect a huge turnout despite the rainy season in the country and we urge golfers to come enjoy our well-kept greens,” said Club Captain, Vincent Landa.

Teams from Burundi, Kakamega, Uasin Gishu, Nairobi, Mombasa, Nyeri, Kericho, and Nandi Counties have already secured their places in the tour’s grand finale in December.

“Our investment in golf is aimed at giving an opportunity to budding golfers to learn the ropes of the game, to hone their skills and to compete locally, regionally and internationally further cementing our status on the global map as a favourite golfing destination,” noted KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications, Rosalind Gichuru.

Over 1,000 players including 500 juniors have taken part in the tourney so far . This year’s edition is expected to attract a total of 3,000 players and 1,500 juniors in the 24-leg tournament targeting  amateurs.
