Kenyan comedian and content creator Elsa Majimbo over the weekend met former Destiny’s Child member and RnB singer Kelly Rowland. The two were at the Black Excellence Brunch hosted by Trell Thomas at Serra on Vine in Los Angeles.
The comedienne, who now lives in the US, took to her socials to share a picture of them together captioning it, “Rowling with Rowland.”
Majimbo who came into fame during the 2020 pandemic was one of the guest at the Black Excellence Brunch series modelled after the African American tradition of Sunday dinner.
Speaking about the conception to Ebony magazine, the host Trell Thomas said, “The brunch caters to the Black and Brown community, creating a safe space for us to be unapologetically ourselves while developing relationships through networking over cocktails, a soul food-styled meal.”
Majimbo’s attendance comes as no surprise to anyone who paid attention to her meteoric rise since 2020. Since her debut on the world stage, Majimbo has gone on to partner with Tiffany & Co. during the SuperBowl, has received a package from Beyonce’s Ivy Park Collection and early this year was named among the top social media influencers alongside Khaby Lame Ye and Kim Kardashian West’s daughter, North West, The D’Amelio Sisters and controversial figure Dylan Mulvaney to mention a few.
Kelly was the brunch’s honouree for the event and took the time while there to share her life’s story.
Rowland is a five-time Grammy Award-winning singer, actress and television personality, who has sold more than 100 million records as a solo artist and member of Destiny’s Child.
